Biography

I anchor KIRO 7 News Monday through Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., making sure you have the latest local, national, international, business, and entertainment/culture news to get you prepared for the day. I’m also an investigative reporter and two-time Emmy Award-winner.

I love bringing you stories that prompt change or provide solutions, because a big part of my job is connecting with and helping you! Some of my recent stories include an investigation revealing that judges ordered dozens of people to get paid for waiting in jail; an investigation that exposed security weaknesses at power stations across our area after attacks caused power outages for thousands of people; and multiple stories on luggage theft at Seattle Tacoma International Airport to help you protect yourself.

I plan and manage my stories from start to finish. That means coming up with the idea, doing in-depth research, finding the best visuals and interviewees, scheduling shoots, working with our graphics team, writing the script, and collaborating with my editor and manager to deliver an elevated final product. Each time I bring a story to the screen, my promise is that it will inform you and entertain you.

On the anchor desk, I’ve brought you coverage on major breaking news events, from a deadly shooting at a Seattle high school in 2022 to the riots in downtown Seattle in 2020 to the deadly crane collapse on a major Seattle thoroughfare in 2019. I co-anchored the KIRO 7 newscast that won an Emmy Award in 2019 for our coverage of security issues at the airport after an airport worker stole and crashed an empty passenger plane.

I joined KIRO-TV in 2013 and I love being back in the Pacific Northwest. I was born and raised in British Columbia. Before coming to Seattle, I reported for WSOC-TV in Charlotte, N.C., where I provided in-depth coverage on the controversial fight for control of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. I also broke the story that a highly-paid city tourism CEO was continuing to receive $20,000 a month even after he was replaced. While at WSOC-TV, I covered the Democratic National Convention, the John Edwards federal criminal trial, and Hurricane Irene making landfall on the North Carolina coast.

Prior to WSOC-TV, I worked as a reporter for WHEC-TV in Rochester, N.Y., where I launched WHEC’s Finger Lakes bureau to serve the five counties surrounding Rochester.

I graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Creative Writing and with honors from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism with a Master of Science in Journalism.

In my free time, I enjoy running, playing tennis, traveling with my family, reading (message me with recommendations!), writing, and searching for the perfect meal.
